Timpanogos Cave

Okay...so I totally stole these pictures off of Mary and John's blog. I don't know if that's against some kind of blog etiquette...is there even such a thing? Oh well, Thank you Espinosa's!
We weren't sure if we were going to be doing anything on Memorial Day because Jane's been having a hard time at night. We put her to bed Sunday night hoping we wouldn't be up every 10 to 20 minutes (like the three nights before) and lo and behold she slept until 5:00 am! So, we got up in hurry so we'd be able to get tickets, fed the baby, pulled Lucas out of bed, loaded up the car, and made our way to Timpanogos Cave. Our time slot to see the cave was going to be about an hour and half wait so we decided to get some breakfast in Highland. We assumed we'd be able to find a McDonalds somewhere....nope! The only place that we could find was a Del Taco. So, we ate breakfast....at Del Taco. enough said. The rest of the day went better than I expected...the kids loved the hike and didn't complain, the baby slept the whole time, the weather was nice and cool, the cave was a BIG hit with the kiddos, and then we all devoured our packed lunch at a cute little park to end our afternoon. These are the kind of days that I just love being a parent!

Our American Duty

What's more American than watching American Idol?!? It's your patriotic duty to watch so last night I was just doing my part. I loved the finale. They always drag it out too long but I was having a great time with Mary for the two hour plus show. I was surprised to see so many legends perform...Queen, KISS (I got a little nauseous during their performance...all those NASTY tongues everywhere...GROSS), Cyndi Lauper, Rod Stewart, Lionel Richie, Santana, Fergie (does she count as a legend?), who else...too many to remember. Another highlight was when Kara surprised and out-sang bikini girl....good times. Finally the results came in...it was an "upset" for most but I've liked Kris from the beginning so I was happy. Adam was really fun to watch but I think he belongs on Broadway. Very talented but a little too flamboyant for my taste. I'm sad it's over :(

A Day in the Life

It feels like I've had Jane for years...it's already getting hard to remember the days before she came. She's a sweet baby...I want to say that I had something to do with that but I think she just came that way.

Notice that she does have hair!!!

I am in awe...I could just hold and stare at her all day.

Lucas was expecting her to be awake a little more. He's constantly asking me when she's going to wake up or not be eating. So he plays...and she sleeps. I think I can handle this...

Thank you John for the pictures....

My Little Cherry Blossom

I've been dying to post these pictures but I thought it would be nice to send out Jane's baby announcement first. I had it finished (minus the pictures) a couple months before she came...I could hardly wait. I had it in my mind what I wanted the pictures to be like (springy, long green grass), but I really wasn't up to taking pictures when we came home from the hospital. John and Mary came over for a visit the day after we came home and he had his camera with him. It was like the stars aligned...the weather was warmish, the blossoms were out, and just up the street was the perfect place for the picture I had in my mind. John found the basket (which was genius) and we were off for the world's shortest photo shoot. I think, all-in-all, it lasted about 4 minutes. But long enough to get the sweetest little picture. I LOVE IT! I realize I might be biased...

I love this little girl

As you can see, Jane was not cooperating...

I was feeling much better the next day so I ventured back up the street to take some of Luke and Jane together...and, of course, some of just Lucas. He has not been forgotten ;)

Lucas got this scooter as a "big brother" present. He LOVES it and has been riding it non-stop.

He adores Jane. Every morning I take her to his room and lay her down beside him. He snuggles right up and puts his arm around her and she takes her first little nap right there. It is so sweet.

What kind of post would this be without the grumpy photo's....
