Why children need mothers....

Earlier today I blogged about David and Luke's skiing day together and how great it was for him to have alone time with his Dad. After they came home and the day progressed it became apparent that there's a reason Mom's are needed....NO SUNBLOCK on my poor little fair-skinned child. It didn't occur to David that he might need some. I REALLY should have pointed that out before they left...but for some reason I think that David is going to take care of Luke the way I do!?! Lesson learned...Daddies are fun but Mom's need to think of the less fun (but equally important) stuff. For all you people that don't have to grease up your kid before you go skiing/swimming, and think that I'm neurotic for being so thorough,...this is what happens to little redheads without SPF. His first pictures with Jane are officially ruined. sad. Or maybe I'll just paint her face....

Ditch Day

Lucas definitely is sensing that things are about to change...it's in the air. He's been a little bit needier and certainly more emotional the last week or so. Great timing. It's no secret that he knows how to pull at my heart strings...so, today he got to skip school and go skiing with David. The skiing was just a bonus, mostly skipping school was the absolute most delightful thing that he had ever experienced...what have I started!?!?!? They had a great time together and I'm really happy he got to have some one and one bonding time with his daddy. Doesn't every kid need that?! ;)

mostly he just wanted to eat snow all day....

April Shower

Last month (was it really that long ago!?!?) Mary and Cathi threw me a baby shower and Suzie hosted it at her house. I felt a little weird because it was my second baby but Mary insisted (she's such a great sister). It ended up being such a great day for me...I've just been so excited to finally have this little girl that it was wonderful to get together with people who are excited about her too! Special shout out to Mary, Suzie, and Cathi...you guys are the best--and thanks to everyone who came. I love you all! I forgot my camera but I managed to take pictures of all the gifts I received (I highly recommend doing this..I don't remember who gave what to Lucas and it's fun to remember that kind of stuff). I'll put a few of the gifts up...not all because that would take me too long so don't be sad if your gift isn't on here. I'm just too lazy...but I loved everything. Girl stuff rocks.

Baby update--I took down the little ticker because I don't have a real due date and it bothered me to have a pretend countdown. I had an appointment today and I hadn't dilated any more than I was last week :( If I don't go into labor any time soon I am scheduled to deliver the baby next Thursday! She's already a pound and half bigger than Lucas was...CRAZY! So, if you don't hear from me again for awhile know that Jane will be here April 23rd!! I hope I'm ready for this.

Blue Awakening

For as often as I take photos it really is such a tragedy that I don't have more of my own family! I'm really proud of myself whenever I remember to get the camera and actually take time to snap a few shots. The Saturday before last we had a picnic at Antelope Island with the Espinosa's...we had a great time and I'm pretty excited about a few of the pictures we got of my dear little boy. These will probably be the last pictures of him before he looses his "only child" status. Poor kid doesn't even know how much his life is about to change...

Stressed out and can't sleep

I've got a baby coming in three weeks, 8 shows to finish, my mom just went to the ER (she couldn't remember the year, day, month, who the president was, what had happened in the last six months or so, who her youngest grandchild was, or even that I was expecting a baby.....so scary!) and we still don't know what exactly went wrong, RS meetings to plan, and my baby is not letting me sleep. There, I'm done venting. I really wish time would stand still so I could finish up and figure out all the things that are stressing me out...before my baby gets here.

That was a bit dramatic....I'm doing pretty good really. I'm excited for this baby, I just need to get a substantial amount of work done in the next three weeks! I REALLY hope she doesn't come early!!!!
