Happy St. Patrick's Day...

We were all set to have a great St. Patricks.
Started out the day with green eggs and ham
Then we had a huge surprise....Dad bought a trampoline!!! Luke and David spent the whole afternoon putting it together. They were both really excited....even Jane was excited! We just soaked up the sun while David finished setting it up. The kids could hardly wait!
Finally it was time to jump!

And then......

Tragedy....

Check out my baby boy's horribly broken arm.
You're not seeing things....it really was that bad.

These were taken in the emergency room before he had any pain reliever.
He was so brave. I can't imagine how much pain he was in.

There are no words...
Five doctors were in the room while they tried to set it.
I couldn't watch that part....:(
He still might need surgery...we'll find out on Wednesday.
He was so adorable after the procedure. The nurses kept saying what a great patient he was...it was amazing. I would've been hysterical! He totally kept it together thoughout everything.
I could go in to details but I'm tired...if you want to know, call me. I'll try and upload some video that I shot at the hospital soon.

All smiles when we left the hospital. The drugs were still helping him feel mighty fine...since then he's started to feel awfully depressed. He wants to run , play, and have fun. So sad :(

So, two thumbs down for St. Patrick's Day, green eggs and ham,
and, especially, TRAMPOLINES!

The Ice Sheet

After watching the speed skating competitions during the Olympics this year Luke was pretty sure if he put on some skates he could go just as fast. The Ice Sheet started a little 6 week class so we signed him up since he seemed so interested. Right before stepping on the ice the first day he said,"I'm probably going to do some spins now, so watch me." I just smiled....go for it Luke. :)

I took this of Daniel without noticing Luke. This pretty much sums up the first day :) He didn't give up though. Most of the other kids took it really easy but Luke was determined to go fast. So he skated fast and fell hard.
This is the only thing he didn't like...the "baby games". Other than that he's loving it.

Hot Topic

Since day 1 David has wanted to pierce Jane's ears. He served his mission in Brazil where EVERY baby girl has ear rings and of course he totally fell in love with it. It seems like when I was growing up most of my friends had it done either when they were babies or they'd wait until eight or sometimes 12. When my niece Ellie was a baby I remember Mary Dixon saying she thought it was adorable when babies had their ears pierced and was thinking about having Ellie's done. Since Mary D. is my moral compass, baby piercing got my stamp of approval that day (In case you don't know Mary D. only does things that are virtuous, lovely, good report, or praiseworthy....she's amazing :) Anyway, I knew we would pierce Jane's eventually so....why not now? Plus, my dear sweet sister (who loves all things girl) has been harassing me for awhile. So we went for it. Little did I know this was such a hot topic! I'd say for most it's not but there are some that are truly horrified (i.e. my in-laws). I had no idea people were so passionate about this. So, let me just say this so you don't think I'm a mean mom, Jane cried for just a few seconds until we popped the binki in. Quite simply, it was no big deal. I cried in the doctor's office when she has her shots and this was nothing comparatively. The ear rings don't bother her at all and she hasn't even messed around with them.....I thought she would. So, all-in-all I would definitely do it again....even at the risk of my in-laws being mad at me for awhile. We love, love, LOVE them on Jane!

Mary threatened my life if I did this without calling her first....Cathi wanted in too. :)
Money shot...

This is just seconds after....
the binki heals all
She was all smiles after a few minutes....just not for the camera!
please excuse the bad hair day

Bridals

I shot these yesterday and liked them so much I thought I'd share :)
Ever since Jane I've cut back on how many projects I take on and it's made a huge difference. I'm starting to fall in love with weddings again. They're so fun :)
