Summer

I managed to go the ENTIRE summer without blogging.

So, here's a taste of our summer....

Endless hours playing and eating in the backyard...
The Fourth

Trip to Southern Utah

Bryce Canyon

Week in Idaho with Krissy and Garrett
Art in the Park in Ogden....we did this almost everyday in June.
It was fabulous.
My birthday up at Wolf Creek

David hurt his back in July and his physical therapist didn't want him to be sitting in a chair longer than 20 minutes at a time. So, he had quite a bit of time off of work this summer. It's been SO fun having him home and be able to do all the fun summer activities with me and the kids. He's back full time on September 1st. I'm going to miss him.

I love U

This client of mine plays soccer for the U and thought it would be fun to shoot some of their engagements at Rice-Eccles Stadium. They're kinda fun...

Whoops...forget i said that.

I can't believe I haven't blogged about this yet! So, last month David kept telling me that his face felt weird. It looked like he was maybe getting a cold sore on his lip but there wasn't any visible difference. He googled some of his symptoms and came in and said to me," Well, I'm either having a stroke OR I have Bell's Palsy". We both laughed and I said that it better not be Bell's Palsy or else I wouldn't love him anymore...hahaha (just kidding of course). Well, the next morning his face was completely drooping on the left side. He couldn't raise his left eyebrow, blink that eye, use his tongue on that side...he hardly even looked like himself. He went to the doctor and, OF COURSE it was Bell's Palsy (a condition that causes the facial muscles to weaken or become paralyzed)....STICK FOOT IN MOUTH. So sad. Anyway, the doctor prescribed him some steroids and basically said there's not much we could do but wait it out. Anywhere from 3-9 months.
I'm happy to report that I still loved him, Bell's Palsy and all
...maybe even a little more.

Who could resist this face....seriously?!
A week or two in David was pretty sure Jane was trying to make fun of him. Every time he smiled at her she'd always pull some crazy face.
It was a little scary there for awhile and I really did feel bad for him....which, of course, didn't stop me from laughing EVERY TIME we were talking! We were expecting for it to last quite a while but things started looking better after a couple weeks and he was pretty much back to normal in a month. I think David and I were both relieved. I'm not sure if our reaction was normal but we, for the most part, laughed our way right through this little hiccup in the road. What else can you do?

My April Baby is ONE

In my family we celebrate all the monthly birthdays all together....we decided to host for April since it was the big ONE for Jane! It's also pretty special because Becca has the same birthday...Becca said to me on her baptism day she thought she and Jane were practically twins!

What's a party at our house without rice, beans, and all the fixins?

Strawberry shortcake might have been my best idea ever...Jane LOVED it.

Did I mention she loved it?

Ezra helped Jane with the presents...I love how much all the little boys in the family love and take care of her. Every time we have them over they all fight over who gets to sit by her highchair at meal times and who gets to sit by her in the car. It's adorable.
Jane stands up all the time...does this mean she's walking? Not so much.
But, she's an expert stander.
Favorite present of the night was the teddy bear Isaac gave her...she hugged it all night!

I love having a girl....

Easter Egg Hunt 2010

Who doesn't love a good egg hunt?

I wasn't expecting Jane to really understand what was going on so I was shocked when she crawled around till she found an egg and went back and put it in her basket. It was crazy! Girls must be born with a natural instinct to put stuff in baskets...

Luke was at a bit of a disadvantage this year...the hunt's just not the same with only one arm :(

She loves her Daddy...but not his whiskers.

Dying Eggs with the Cousins

These are not only cousins but also Luke's best friends.
It's so nice to have so many "friends" in the family!

We missed Becca, Anna, Steven, Ellie, and Tommy :(
